Meet the owner: Ethan Hamrick
Born and raised in the Tampa Bay area, Captain Ethan is the founder and owner of Wish Upon A Fish and is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain. In addition to spending countless hours on the waters of Tampa Bay since he was a young child, Ethan also has experience fishing many areas throughout the state of Florida, including Palm Beach and The Florida Keys. He has a deep passion for fishing, boating, teaching others about fishing, and creating memories for his clients that will last a lifetime. Captain Ethan especially has a passion for seeing kids enjoy the sport of fishing and has gradually turned that passion into his profession. If you’re looking for a fun-filled, action-packed day on the waters in and around Tampa Bay, you’re in good hands with Captain Ethan at the helm.
Meet The Fleet
Guests will enjoy their trip aboard a 22′ Tidewater bay boat, with a T-top for added shade. It’s equipped with all the necessary tools for a successful day on the water, including a trolling motor, power-pole, and cooler full of ice. A boat designed with fishing in mind while also comfortable enough to host up to 6 passengers.

We will be fishing the Intracoastal waterway, Gulf of Mexico, and the waters around Clearwater FL.
Tampa Bay offers a wide variety of fish species to target. Snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout are the main targeted inshore species. However, other species such as Sharks, Tarpon, Spanish Mackerel, Jacks, Bluefish, Grouper, and Mangrove Snapper are also on the list.
Sunscreen, bug spray(for fishing near mangroves) food/snacks, and any special drinks you may want should be brought.
The majority of our fishing will take place in calm water, so sea sickness is unlikely. However, if you are prone to motion sickness, taking some sort of medicine in preparation is not a bad idea
The sun is brutal during a long day on the water, so proper clothing is a must. A breathable long sleeve shirt is recommended, along with lightweight shorts of some kind. A hat and sunglasses are also recommended, as well as none-skid shoes to avoid slipping on the boat. A small bag to keep your things in is also suggested.
